Fullview, please! | Woohoo guys, look! More art! And it's original!
And, even more shocking, this is part of a big project I've just started! Basically, the challenge I have set myself is to design convincing hybrid creatures based off prompts, usually including two to three creatures, plus a chosen gemstone [basically, I'm extending the universe of Illumina]. I've got about fifteen or so prompts lined up, and there's no guarantee I'll get through all of them, but some of them certainly push my limits [which is the point, basically]. For instance, I have a killer whale & gazelle hybrid in the works... it's strangely adorable and you'll probably see it a few days after Christmas.
Anyway, this beauty was requested by ~Zexion1988, who gave me the prompt of 'chinese dragon, red fox and topaz'. Basically I just exploded in colourful joy because I knew I would be going crazy with yellows, oranges and reds... which are basically my favourite colours to mess with. I gravitated to this prompt for two reasons - firstly, it was Christmas and I wanted to turn it into a gift, and secondly because I know I can draw both creatures already. Not the best for pushing myself, but it gave me the proper opportunity to re-attempt the dragon/fox hybrid I created in a not-so-fantastic painting... to cut it short, I am very, very pleased with the end result. I've always wanted to draw a Chinese-esque dragon, too.
